A curated selection of antique hall, porch and staircase lanterns, ranging from restrained Georgian and Regency designs to more elaborate Victorian and Edwardian examples.
We hold both single lanterns and matched sets, suitable for entrance halls, stairwells, porticos and covered exterior settings.
Hall lanterns have long been considered among the most architectural of lighting forms, framing the entrance and setting the tone of an interior. Our collection includes English gilt-brass cage lanterns, Regency hexagonal and octagonal hall lights, French Louis XVI cylindrical lanterns, and later globe and bell-shaped examples in bronze and glass.
We pay particular attention to the quality of the metalwork, the survival of original glass panels, and the proportion of the lantern relative to the room it is intended for. Where required, we can advise on sizing, drop length and suspension for stairwells and double-height halls.
Each lantern is inspected, cleaned and rewired to current standards before sale, with original finishes, chains and ceiling roses retained wherever possible.
Our stock changes as pieces are acquired, restored and sold. Each item shown is available to view by appointment at our London showroom.
