Chandelier Cleaning in Kent – 1980s Contemporary Chrome Spiral Chandelier

At G & P Cohn, we recently completed a specialist chandelier cleaning project in Kent for a stunning contemporary light fixture. This unique chandelier dated from the 1980s and featured a swirling chrome-plated spiral frame, with strass glass drops hanging elegantly along every curve.

While many of our projects involve antique chandeliers, this modern design brought its own set of challenges—especially because it was installed directly above a stairwell. Cleaning a chandelier above stairs requires extra care, the right equipment, and professional expertise to ensure safety and a perfect finish.

To access the chandelier safely, we used a specially designed set of stair ladders that can be adjusted securely across uneven steps. This allowed us to reach every section of the fitting and carry out a thorough clean without risk to the fixture or surrounding space.

Each individual strass glass piece was carefully cleaned and polished to remove dust, fingerprints, and dullness, restoring the chandelier’s original sparkle. The chrome spiral frame was also meticulously treated to bring back its mirror-like shine.

After several hours of detailed work, this beautiful contemporary chandelier looked like new again—transforming the stairwell with bright, reflective light.
