A pair of cut glass Albert tiered chandeliers were taken down from a family home following the mother's move. The chandeliers were to pass to her son, who had them installed at his own property. We carried out the full sequence: careful removal, workshop re-electrification and cleaning, and final reinstallation at the new address.
The Piece
A matched pair of cut glass Albert tiered chandeliers, each with two tiers of long faceted spear drops suspended from a brass frame, hung on chain from a domed ceiling cup.
Work Carried Out
- Careful removal of both chandeliers from the original property
- Protection of drops and frames for transit to the workshop
- Complete re-electrification of both fittings to current standards
- Hand cleaning of every cut drop and polishing of the brass frames
- Delivery to the son's new property
- Reinstallation, levelling and final electrical check
Approach
Both chandeliers were dismantled sufficiently to travel safely, then rewired and cleaned in the workshop before being taken to the new address and hung from their new ceiling points. The pair was kept together through every stage so the two fittings remained a true match on reinstallation.
Outcome
Both chandeliers are back in daily use in the son's home, cleanly lit and hanging square, with the family piece continuing in the next generation.
