    12-Arm Dutch Brass Chandelier, c. 1890

    A small Dutch-style brass chandelier. Detailed trumpet crooks descend from the upper section to the first tier, each arm ending in a cast pan and nozzle. The second tier repeats and enlarges the pattern below, and the piece terminates in the typical Dutch ball.

    Catalogue Notes

    • Twelve arms arranged over two tiers
    • Detailed trumpet crooks to the upper section
    • Cast pans and nozzles to each arm

    Restoration by G&P Cohn

    Hand cleaned and polished; frame checked and reassembled. Finish protected with a lacquer coat.

    Electrification —Rewired to current UK standards; can be adapted for candle use on request.

    Restored and rewired. Brasswork polished and lacquered; frame sound.

    Our Opinion

    A compact example of the Dutch type, of a scale that suits smaller rooms or a library setting where a larger chandelier would over-dominate. The polished and lacquered finish is the workshop's, and will hold well over time.
