    Restoration and re-electrification

A decorative Turkish chandelier was brought into our workshop for full restoration and re-electrification. The piece required attention to its metalwork and complete renewal of its wiring before being returned to the client.

    The Piece

A Turkish chandelier of characteristic form, with intricate pierced metalwork and decorative glass elements suspended from a central frame.

    Work Carried Out

    • Disassembly of the chandelier within the workshop
    • Cleaning and consolidation of the metalwork
    • Complete renewal of internal wiring to current standards
    • Replacement of lamp holders and terminals where required
    • Reassembly with each element returned to its original position
    • Full electrical testing and certification

    Approach

The piece was dismantled in a controlled sequence so that every component could be cleaned, addressed and rewired without altering its original character. Reassembly followed the original order, with no decorative element changed.

    Outcome

The chandelier is electrically sound, properly certificated and ready to return to use, with its decorative character unchanged. Further workshop restoration and rewiring projects include the Georgian lantern restoration, the small icicle chandelier restoration and the conservation of a Flemish brass chandelier.
