A decorative sunflower lamp was brought into our workshop for restoration and re-electrification. The piece needed renewed wiring and attention to its metalwork before being returned to use.
The Piece
A decorative table or floor lamp formed as a stylised sunflower, with petalled metalwork and a central lamp holder.
Work Carried Out
- Disassembly of the lamp within the workshop
- Cleaning and consolidation of the metalwork
- Complete renewal of internal wiring to current standards
- Replacement of the lamp holder and terminals where required
- Reassembly with each petal returned to its original position
- Full electrical testing and certification
Approach
Work was carried out in the workshop, with the lamp dismantled in a controlled sequence so that wiring could be renewed without altering the decorative character of the piece.
Outcome
The lamp is electrically sound, properly certificated and ready to return to use, with its original sunflower form unchanged. Comparable workshop re-electrification is recorded in our Turkish chandelier restoration and the small icicle chandelier restoration.
