    An original Regency tent and waterfall chandelier of the early 19th century, of English manufacture. Eight arms with cut-glass nozzles and pans; the tent section dressed with strings of antique octagonal heavily cut, flat-back buttons; the four-tier waterfall section dressed with triangular icicles.

    Catalogue Notes

    • Eight arms with cut-glass nozzles and pans
    • Tent section dressed with heavily cut, flat-back octagonal buttons
    • Four-tier waterfall section dressed with triangular icicles
    • Decorative leaf metalwork to the top canopy and central frame
    • Large glass bubble at the lower terminal

    Restoration by G&P Cohn

    Dismantled and hand cleaned in the workshop; strings of octagonal buttons re-hung and pins renewed as required.

    Electrification —Rewired to current UK standards; can be adapted for candle use on request.

    Condition

    Original and in fine order. Antique cut glass retained throughout; decorative leaf metalwork intact.

    Our Opinion

    A characteristic English Regency tent and waterfall in original condition. The heavily cut flat-back buttons are of the quality one hopes to find on work of this date, and the leaf metalwork to the canopy is well preserved. A piece for a room of considered period furnishing.
