The Chandeliers
We recently carried out our annual cleaning of a pair of decorative glass leaf chandeliers at a private residence in The Boltons, London.
Although relatively small in size, these chandeliers feature an intricate arrangement of slender metal branches, each decorated with individually mounted, faceted leaf-shaped glass pieces.
The delicate construction requires particular care during cleaning, as the glass leaves and their supporting branches need to be handled gently to avoid damage or displacement.
Work Carried Out
Both chandeliers were cleaned entirely in situ, without the need to take them down or dismantle their glass decoration.
Using small access ladders, we carefully worked around each chandelier, removing accumulated dust and cleaning the individual glass leaves by hand.
Particular attention was given to the delicate glass elements and the areas where they attach to the metal branches, ensuring that the chandeliers were cleaned thoroughly without placing unnecessary strain on their construction.
The metal framework and accessible components were also carefully cleaned, helping to maintain the overall appearance of each fitting.
Annual Chandelier Cleaning
We return to this property annually to clean both chandeliers.
Regular cleaning is particularly beneficial for decorative lighting of this type, where dust can accumulate across numerous small glass surfaces and around the intricate framework.
By maintaining the chandeliers each year, we can prevent excessive dust build-up and preserve the clarity and sparkle of the glass without unnecessary dismantling.
This project demonstrates how even smaller chandeliers can require a careful, methodical approach, particularly when their decorative glass components are delicate and individually mounted.
