We recently returned to a private residence in Hampstead, London, to carry out the annual cleaning of a pair of large contemporary glass chandeliers.
The Piece
Both chandeliers are suspended at high level and, due to their size and construction, needed to be cleaned entirely in situ.
Work Carried Out
- High-level access to both chandeliers using our large access ladders
- Thorough hand dusting to remove the accumulation of surface dust
- Careful cleaning of the glass and accessible components with the fittings left in position
- Annual return visits arranged with the client for ongoing maintenance
Approach
Using our large access ladders, we carefully worked around each chandelier at height. The chandeliers were first thoroughly dusted by hand to remove the accumulation of surface dust before the glass and accessible components were carefully cleaned while the fittings remained in position.
Outcome
With large chandeliers such as these, regular maintenance prevents a significant build-up of dust and helps maintain the clarity and appearance of the glass without the need for unnecessary dismantling. We have cleaned these chandeliers previously and the client has arranged for us to return annually, allowing them to be maintained on a regular basis.
